     I started last night by getting onto the wiki page and creating the side bar links. After creating links for home, and Byung and I's journals and notes I edited the website to add some flare. SHIZZAM!!! I have to say i was pretty pleased with myself. I changed the background of the wiki page to bamboo and that’s neat because I'll bet I'm the only one that has it.

    When I was content with a nights work of pimping out my pb wiki page I proceeded to start working on my project timeline. As I began to plan out the future completion of our research and wiki page I decided to call Byung to consult him on his participation of the project. I soon came across our first problem. Byung does not understand me over the phone and he does not do social networking. I will have to discuss this complication with Ms. tucker tomorrow and find a time during the day to complete the timeline with Byung

 

At Lunch: with Byung present we completed the timeline and assigned each other days of research and work on the wiki page for helping complete the project.

    I was very flustered today when I sat down to do the research on my bacteria. There was no or very minimal information that I spotted on the school search engines. I was disappointed because I knew it would now be more difficult to find reliable information. I glanced at a few free web pages from Google just to get a grip for what I was looking for. As of now it seems as though the research will be the hardest part of this project.

Another problem is that if I can't find information on our bacteria I can't make notes which puts Byung and I further behind.  The Gmail seems to work for Byung and I to communicate. I think I will have to do the research tomorrow during free period with Byung and we will have to come up with a more sufficient method of researching. As for my good luck it turns out I was not the only one in my class who discovered the nifty background skins. In fact there were two other groups. I no longer felt special, so i changed my background again

    I still struggled today trying to find good research information. It aggravates me greatly that none of the school resources, that are paid for by the school, have any information that I can use. I did find one or two pages from Google that seem like credible, accurate resources. I found Mrs. Jansen's web site evaluation teaching really helpful today. However I still think this project is way to time consuming. I can only hope Christmas break will be long enough for me to catch up on all the sleep that I'm losing on his project. Also I was disappointed when I came to school today and we had human development. This is because I was not able to complete the research I was hoping to get done with Byung.

    The new databases that have been provided such as elibrary seem to have much more information than the first websites I visited. However I am still having a difficult time however finding specific information on our bacteria. All of the web pages I have seen just talk about Leuconostoc mesenteroides in association with lab test that I don't understand. What is very hard is sorting good information about your bacteria out from articles.

Reading these science articles is like reading Russian or something, it’s impossible. I swear these scientists have nothing better to do than challenge Webster's dictionary for longest words. I am finding enough research though to begin the bibliography and write in my notes. What I plan to do this weekend is some major cosmetic changes to the front page of the wiki and try to wrap up all of the research.

12/8/07

 

    This morning I got up and did a little bit of research on our bacteria. I found some information on its growth, reproduction and other basic information that we had yet to find. I wrote in my notes for a little while on what I had found so far. I have been trying to decide what other links we need to add to the side bar. I will have to discuss this with Byung later.

After I worked on the wiki page for a while in the morning I had to leave to go to a lacrosse clinic that lasted nearly all day. Saturday evening I was too tired to work on the web page and fell asleep quickly after coming home.

    I have spent almost all of Sunday morning searching for images and other cool things to add to or site. I hope that i'll be able to find some other images sooner than later. As of right now though I have only found and sited only image of Leuconostoc mesenteroides. I have decided to move out of searching primarily for Leuconostoc mesenteroides and look into the Genus Leuconostoc where I hope to find a wider, more specific range of information. I don't however plan to move farther out to research the family Leuconostocaceae because I feel the information would be to broad. I enjoyed bumping to Ms. Tucker's gypsy music on Koop radio station. However once again I was shorted on project time because I had to go to lacrosse.

    I have been asking around to find someone who is able to teach me how to make a basic video on flash. I'm hoping to be able to have at least one video on our website. I our web site is coming along and I have found some new information that should help us. During class I am planning on completing the website evaluations for the sites we have used so far. I was wishing that by now we would have all of our research completed but I think that if I finish by tonight Byung and I should be good. The rest of the week should go along as planned and more pages on our website are in need. Byung's tutor is going to help him with some of his writing on the website tonight so that it will hopefully make sense. I have struggled with finding more pictures to be placed on our website. However I am finding trouble being able to site the pictures because the information is not available.

12/11/07

 

    Today I made more pages for our sidebar including classification and function. I have found the rest of the information we need to finish our website. I am hoping to have the rest of the text in the wiki page done by Friday afternoon. I am going to have to incorporate more about our bacteria in relation to Lactic acid bacteria. This is because I will be able to convey much more about our bacteria because a lactic acid bacterium has a wider range of information. Byung wrote most of the front page today with the help of his tutor. I had to go in and make some minor changes to the text but I think he understands most of it pretty well.

Today I filled out most of the website evaluations so I only have one or two more that I need to complete. tomorrow I plan on finishing the pages I created today and hopefully Byung can make a page or two.

    Today I wrote in some of the pages that I added to the sidebar. I think I that I should have enough information to make each page interesting. I completed the website evaluations and looked for photos that I could use for the website. I think Byung found some that he was going to use and so I hope they work out. Tonight and tomorrow night I plan on spending a couple of hours reading over the bacteria page for the integrated assignments. I think reading over the recommended material will give me some ideas. Unfortunately tonight I am babysitting some rowdy youngsters until 10:00 so I don't think I will be able to manage to complete my expectations.

    I am much more frantic today about making the website "cooler". First off, the kids I watched last night were on a rampage and I barely got anything done on the website. With the other homework I had, having to study for a test and keeping these children from killing each other was a full time job. During my off period I made a word search for my home page. Byung and I have elected to stay up all night to hopefully complete most of the website. I'm not sure however If this will work out to well because I am terribly exhausted. Tomorrow I am going to try very hard to get a video for the wiki home page.

    Last night proved to be successful. The wiki page is looking awesome and Byung was a big help. We had to make the bibliography and put it in alphabetical order. Next we went to the new pages on the sidebar and made them look really neat. I'm super happy we did that because now I won't be racing around on Sunday to finish the page. I hope we have enough information because it was about all we could find and the pages really look awesome. I really can't wait till this is over. Byung and I have decided to celebrate the finishing of this project by going to a Korean restaurant and each ordering copious amount of spicy kimchi. Byung says that it will make me cry because it is so hot. However my tears will be joyous, for we will have completed the wiki page.

We have completed our wiki page! I'm so happy its unbelievable. Today I just fixed a few minor spelling errors and such on our website and it looks really good. I also typed up our audience evaluation and it is ready to be sent.  Tomorrow morning, shortly after I awake from my slumber, I will send our wiki page to Ms. Tucker. I look forward to the grade, and Korean food wih Byung.
